So you might have noticed I've been a little quiet on the social media places (not that I'm generally chatty there) and not really posting new things here. So what's been going on? Nothing to be too concerned about. I've had a week or two of a crisis of confidence. Nothing I painted seemed to look very good to me, I found myself hesitant to put paint to panel as I loathe disappointing myself. You probably know the deal. When I'm not in that frame of mind it's easy for me to recognize it as something that passes and not to worry, but when I'm in it it's a bit desperate feeling. Anyway, I'm through it now, and back to painting.

The paintings that I have completed, I haven't photographed or posted as I'm getting a new to me old camera. I had been shooting with a newer Sony mirrorless, but lately for some reason I've been pining for the days of early digital or even film photography. So I bought a used Canon DSLR that's more than a decade old, and has a fully articulating screen that can be folded away. I'm hoping to use this for product photos as well as tooling around the desert photos. I think it will provide me the shooting experience I've been pining for.
